WREF Data Governance and Data Management General Manager

Full-Time, Bangalore, Karnataka, India

We are looking for a Data Governance & Data Management General Manager to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for defining and driving the standards, tools and best practices necessary to ensure the right information is available at the right time, in the right form for the right user in GSK’s Worldwide Real Estate and Facilities (WREF) function. You’ll take ownership of WREF’s Data Governance Journey by setting out a plan, applying Enterprise target operating model, and working across the WREF business to develop wholistic DGDM capability where of Value to WREF and GSK.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following.

  • Measure, on a periodic basis, WREF Data Capabilities against CMMI / Data Management Maturity Framework, communicate WREF performance and define roadmaps for continuous improvement in the following areas: Data Management Strategy, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Stewardship, Data Operations and Platform & Architecture.
  • Using the above develop WREF Data Governance capabilities and target operating model to meet the objectives set out in the WREF Strategy.
  • Manage the WREF Data Governance Programme plan, timeline, milestones, dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Accountable for the contents and development of the WREF Data Dictionary to manage Data Definitions and all aspects of the data life cycle including data quality.
  • Develop, validate and drive implementation of WREF Data Standards.
  • Chair and run WREF Stewardship Programme and coordinate / facilitate data stewardship tasks (define priorities, approach and methodology, process and roles & responsibilities)
  • Establish strategic partnership with the senior leadership as a critical link between the MDM organization and wider business; and be accountable for the quality of the data across the business
  • Be the escalation point for data quality issue escalation
  • Accountable for the trend analysis to articulate business value and impact of data quality issues and improvements
  • Collaborate across functional groups responsible for master data management and technology to drive the WREF data management objectives

We would like to speak to you, if you have these experience and Skills.

  • Knowledge of development of Data Governance Journeys and especially MDM service capability to meet business growth plans.
  • Experience with Data Governance Maturity and programmes and good understanding of data models, data dictionary, data quality rules and master data standards and processes.
  • Experience in conceptual design and delivery of key MDM components and tools.
  • Strong understanding and experience of master data compliance regulations in global organizations.
  • Advanced in people management and development, expert in influencing ability and negotiation.
  • Should be courageous in decision making and takes accountability for their actions and for those of their team, has a can-do attitude and will strive to find practical solutions
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships and networks
  • Understands the pitfalls & barriers to MDM and has proven ability to address and drive resolutions for these
  • Has driven change in organization and ways of working
