Sr. DevOps Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Hands on SME on all DevOps matters for cloud and on-prem Guardhat systems that utilize low latency/high volume critical messaging for bidirectional alerting and notifications, IoT device management, telephony, and multimedia applications
• Hands on SME for scalable and cost effective scalable infrastructure architecture development, selection and integration
• Design and implement automated build flow for CICD, automated deployment and application configuration of systems with proactive maintenance activities to keep services up to date and running (Cloud and on-prem)
• SME for configuration and maintenance of security, operating system administration, software installation, and maintenance and upgrades, compatibility of system components
• Configure new and existing systems on AWS, Azure, or on-prem
• Schedule, implement, and automate security compliance patching and updates on Development, QA, and Production servers
• Design, create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation of best practices for all implemented system configurations to ensure efficient planning and execution
• Engage with cross-functional teams in design, development and implementation of enterprise scalable features related to enabling higher developer productivity, environment monitoring and self-healing, and facilitate autonomous delivery teams
• Integrate Code Quality tools and Code Analysis tools into IDE’s
• Support and train field teams with best practices

Required Qualifications/Experience:

• A B.S. or an M.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline is required
• 7+ years of industry experience in software development, scalable infrastructure architecture, infrastructure management and systems operations
• Experience in DevOps and SysOps with architecting build elements and orchestration for both on-premise and cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with Docker and Kubernetes architectures
• Strong experience building and managing release flows for reliable and efficient CI/CD from developers to system integration/test to production deployment
• Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban/Safe workflows and methodologies
• Experience in selecting/managing SQL databases (PostgreSQL), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Nexus), Message Brokers (ActiveMQ/RabbitMQ/Kafka), NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Redis/Cassandra) is desirable
• Significant experience in developing relevant automation for all phases of the integration, test and release process including deployment in production environments for repeatable, reliable, and secure systems
• Excellent working knowledge of IT, networking, security principles and server administration on AWS, Azure, GCP and Linux/RHEL
• Experience with penetration testing, security methodologies and implementation, SOC2/ISO27001 certifications, and customer requirements for security
• Experience with Ansible and/or Terraform
• Up to date on the latest industry best practices/technologies and able to articulate to development and customer teams
• Good interpersonal, communication and documentation skills
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
