The India Delivery Center is part of the Oracle Utilities Global Delivery Consulting group that partners with the regional consulting centers in delivering the high performance Utilities solutions that increase our customers’ competitiveness. The delivery incorporates institutionalized methodologies in an offshore environment whereby world-class talent is developed through mature standards and processes. Role

This position offers very experienced Database and Applications administrators the opportunity to lead the analysis, planning, and execution of all primary administrative functions for both Production and Non-Production environments. Successful candidates will have a deep background in Oracle Database technology including RAC and will be accustomed to supporting 24X7 production and highly critical development environments. Prior responsibility for support of critical businessapplications including Financials or Manufacturing applications is necessary. Technical skills as well as written and verbal communication skills are equally important to this role. Previous exposure to Oracle Utilities applications including CC&B, MDM, MWM, and WAM is a plus, but not necessary for the role. French speaking skills are added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • OracleDatabase Install, Upgrade, Patching and Configuration Oracle Database monitoring and Performance Tuning
  • Change and Release Management, Business continuity and Capacity Planning
  • Database backup,recovery, cloning and refreshes
  • Provide status reports to project manager and /or Team Lead
  • Conduct Technical Training initiatives and mentoring developers/technical consultants
  • Create documentation for new and/or existing technical methodologies
  • OEM expertise in installing, configuring and maintenance.
  • Knowledge in Middleware administration including Weblogic, SOA and Golden Gate
  • Create documentation for new and/or existing technical methodologies
  • Oracle Utilities Application Installation, Administration and Maintenance experience is a plus but, not mandatory
  • Analyze and implement Oracle Utilities product software notifications and updates
Requirements

  • WORKING HOURS including ROTATIONAL NIGHT SHIFTS.
University degree in IT, Computer Science or any of its equivalents.

  • Subject matter knowledge of relevant implementation responsibility
  • 8 to 11 or years experience in supporting production high-availability Oracle Database and RAC environment on a 24X7 basis is a plus
  • 8 or more years experience in supporting 24/7 development environments
  • 8+ or more years experience with Sun Solaris, IBM AIX and Red Hat/Oracle Linux
  • In depth knowledge on OEM in installing the OEM, agents, monitoring , setting alerts and generating reports
  • Proficient in capturing AWR reports, analyzing them and making performance improvement recommendations
  • Working knowledge on ASM, NetApp storage and snap manager (SMO) for Oracle Databases is a plus
  • At least two years development work experience in SQL & strong performance tunings skills
  • Good understanding of relational database design and normalization
  • Ability to read and understand data models
  • Experience with ITIL Service Delivery and Service Support functions (Change Management, Release Management, Incident Management, Capacity Planning, etc.) is a plus
  • At least 2-3 years Technical Architecture exposure
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle and methodology, a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients

May act as the team lead on projects. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and configures detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.

5-7 years of experience relevant to this position including 2 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
